ABOUT ME
Andy Lane is a writer, director, and producer whose work spans feature film, broadcast television, and online media. His debut feature, Blue Canaries — a gripping police drama co-written and co-directed with Luke Mounsey — premiered on Channel 9 in 2023 following a successful international festival run that earned multiple awards.
Andy spent 14 years as a touring musician and DJ in Sydney before studying Film and TV at RMIT. An assistant editor role at WTFN introduced him to post-production. A passion for writing sparked by the golden age of television led him a Master of Screenwriting at the Victorian College of the Arts.
Over more than a decade in television, Andy has written, produced, and edited hundreds of hours of sports and factual programming. He moved through IT management, colour correction, editing, and ultimately into writing and producing his own shows. During his time at Inverleigh Productions he was delivering at least one half-hour episode a week, 52 weeks a year.
At Mesa Vision, Andy has broadened his creative scope to directing and producing online commercial content from concept through to delivery.
He continues to create high-concept, commercial work for clients through Mesa Vision while developing a slate of feature and TV projects under his production company, Mounsey/Lane. He is also preparing to publish his debut novel.
